Principle of repetitive facilitation exercise. When a motor command occurs in the brain, the synapse bond strengthens. The neural networks are excited. At this time, the therapist stimulates the patient’s paralyzed arm. This stimulation is transmitted to the brain. When the intention to move the arm and the stimulus overlaps, the brain recognizes this as if the patient had moved the paralyzed hand. This recognition promotes the reconstruction of the nerve pathway to the paralyzed arm
